Musical Education

Born in Buenos Aires (Argentina), Adriana Hodary’s passion for music was evident from an early age.  Having first experimented with the piano and the guitar, it was not long before Adriana discovered her voice.  From that time, singing has played a central role in her life.  She received her Voice Diploma at the Conservatory of Buenos Aires and studied Musicology at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem while simultaneously pursuing her vocal training at the Rubin Academy. She studied composition under the direction of André Hajdu and in Milan, studied with the great tenor, Franco Corelli.

 

Grants & prizes

Her vocal talent and expression, «one of the most unusual and fascinating to be heard» according to the specialized newspaper Art & Fugue (Geneva), have been recognized and rewarded on a number of occasions.  Adriana has received six student grants, has been awarded the diploma of merit from the Culture and Art Centre of Rome and was winner of the King Se Jong 2000 Competition in Milan and the Italian-Latin American Institute Award in Rome.

She has interpreted Donna Anna (Don Giovanni), Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro), The Queen of the Night (Zauberflöte) Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), Rosina (Il barbiere di Siviglia), Gilda (Rigoletto), Rosalinde (Die Fledermaus), Poly (The Beggar's Opera) by Benjamin Britten, Serpina (La Serva Padrona), The Sandman/The Dewfairy (Hänsel and Gretel), Fatime (Le Cadi Dupé) by Gluck, Violetta (La Traviata), Tosca, in Argentina, France, Israel, Italy and Switzerland.

Concert & Recital

At ease both as a recital and concert artist, Adriana has performed in prestigious concert halls on three continents and has enthralled many audiences, with her passionate  interpretation, and the technical mastery of her voice.

Polyvalent and charismatic, Adriana Hodary sings in several languages. At present, Adriana’s opera repertoire is giving prominence to Verdi’s heroïnes, in particular, Norma, Lucrezia Borgia, Tosca, Thaïs, and Semiramide.
